1) Power Transformer Market Expected to Deliver Dynamic Progression until 2028

Global Power Transformer Market – an Overview

The power transformer acts as an electric device that transfers energy between two or more circuits via electromagnetic induction. Power transformers are used to increase or decrease the voltage before transmitting electrical energy from one place to another through wires. This accomplished by increasing the voltage of electric power via step-up transformers, enabling cost-effective transmission of electric power and distribution while avoiding the loss of heat. Consequently, power transformers have shaped the electrical energy supply industry, allowing generators to be located remotely from points of demand. Increasing demand for electrical energy, driven by emerging economies, extensive power plant capacities, along with the economic growth are some of the key drivers articulating the demand for power transformers globally.

Northern European transmission system operator TenneT is delivering two ABB transformers to a substation in Wilster in Schleswig Holstein.

The two direct-coupling transformers will connect the 380kV portion of TenneT’s network to the 110kV portion of Schleswig-Holstein Netz’s grid and will help integrate more offshore wind power into the German grid.

5) NGCP energizes new substation and transmission line

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has energized its newly improved substation and transmission line in Bataan.

The Bataan 230-kV Grid Reinforcement Project is composed of the HermosaBataan Combined Cycle Power Plant Line 3, the BCCPP Substation Bay 81, and its associated equipment.
