Blurred out image of transformer cores. Blog title written in the center that says, “Delivering High Quality Transformer Cores with Unmatched Expertise”. On top of the title is a graphics of a thumbs up with 5 golden stars and under the title is the Corefficient logo.

At Corefficient, we understand that quality is paramount when it comes to transformer cores. We are committed to delivering only the highest quality transformer cores that meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and longevity. In this blog post, we will highlight the variety of testing and value-added services to ensure the quality of our transformer cores.

Testing Raw Materials for Superior Quality

In 2016, Corefficient marked a significant milestone with the opening of our facility and achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification. This certification recognizes our commitment to quality management systems and sets the foundation for delivering exceptional products and services to our clients. Corefficient’s clients can benefit from our continuous flow annealing furnace, Tranco and AEM core forming machines, Georg high-speed cutting lines and state-of-the-art material testing laboratory with the most accurate and reliable test equipment available in the industry.

We start by testing our raw materials to ensure they meet our stringent quality requirements. Our comprehensive testing includes:

1. Single-Sheet Testing: Our modern Single-Sheet Testing (SST) equipment allows us to measure the magnetic flux and permeability of electrical steel material. Each coil of electrical steel undergoes SST to assess its NLL (no load losses) and permeability. This cutting-edge equipment is capable of accurately measuring domain-refined electrical steel.

2. Dimensional Testing: To ensure consistency in our transformer cores, we perform dimensional testing. This test measures the width and thickness of the material, enabling us to identify any variations. We adhere to the ASTM A971 test method, which provides precise measurements of material thickness and width across each coil of electrical steel.

3. Epstein Testing: The Epstein test is conducted to assess the surface insulation resistance of electrical steel material. Using advanced equipment such as the Brockhaus MPG 200 automated test system and Epstein test frames, we measure the core loss and permeability of electrical steel. Multiple Tesla and frequency inputs are used, following the ASTM A717 test method. This testing process allows us to evaluate the material’s performance under different conditions.

4. Franklin Testing: Our Franklin test evaluates the load loss of the material.

Value-Added Services for Enhanced Performance:

Corefficient is a leading provider of transformer core services, specializing in in-house material sourcing and supplying finished transformer cores. Here are some of the transformer core services we offer:

· Annealing: Using a continuous rolling hearth annealing furnace, Corefficient can ensure that its grain-oriented steel materials perform as expected and last for many years. This furnace relieves stresses induced through core manufacturing and returns the material to its original properties.

· Painting: By offering a variety of finishes, Corefficient can help customers to choose the right finish for their specific needs. This can help ensure that cores are appropriately protected and last many years.

· Testing: Corefficient can provide simple engineering reports upon request. These reports can include information such as saturation and pleasing curves. This information can be helpful for customers who are designing or troubleshooting transformers. By providing quality control testing and reports, Corefficient can help customers get the most out of their transformers.

We can help you get the most out of your transformer cores by offering various value-added services.

Corefficient uses fully automated machinery to ensure consistency in the cutting and assembling transformer cores. This results in fast manufacturing and reliable results. Corefficient also uses proven testing methods and modern machinery to minimize core loss and produce long-lasting transformers.

Here are some of the benefits of using fully automated machinery in the cutting and assembling of transformer cores:

· Consistency: Fully automated machinery can cut and assemble transformer cores with high viscosity. This is important because it ensures that the cores meet the required specifications.

· Speed: Fully automated machinery can cut and assemble transformer cores much faster than manual methods. This can lead to faster manufacturing times and shorter lead times.

· Reliability: Fully automated machinery is more reliable than manual methods. This is because it is less prone to human error.

Corefficient can ensure its transformer cores meet the highest quality standards through fully automated machinery and proven testing methods.
