In our previous blogs about the foundational figures of energy innovation – Edison, Tesla, and Faraday — we contemplated the men whose vision created the modern world. Now, new inventors have again risen to the occasion, tackling sustainability’s biggest challenges.  Our summer series will explore some of these energy trailblazers that bring forth renewed explorations, pushing the boundaries of energy innovation.

Of these inventors, a natural first choice for the series is Elon Musk. No other current energy conservation pioneer matches the celebrity and clout of Musk. For a company like Corefficient, his devotion to the cause of sustainability and green energy is an inspiration. Like us, Musk fights for energy efficiency, conservation, and innovative design.

Sustainability is the question of our times. All other issues depend on us solving the issue of renewable energy. Musk agrees and has gone on record stating, “This supersedes political parties, race, creed, religion, it doesn’t matter. If we do not solve the environment, we’re all damned.”

Far from giving renewable energy lip-service, Musk has dedicated himself to the goal of a renewable future. His re-invention of the electric car rocketed him to stardom in the field of a sustainability. Yet, that is only one facet of Musk’s work. He has also prompted innovation through offering millionaire prices for new technologies, like the 100 million dollars he offered for the best carbon capture technology. This was in addition to all the money he funnels to energy innovations through his foundation and different grants.

On a more direct level, Musk has pioneered new lithium-ion batteries which he hopes will revolutionize current storage and charging technology. He has also expanded his operations to include solar power, a move criticized by his investment holders, but in line with his all-out approach to energy conservation. But perhaps the most impressive of all his actions was when he freed the patent to his electric cars to make them free use for any competitor. Profit, he stated, is less important than progress when it comes to designing the technology of the future.

An influencer, pop-culture icon, lightning rod of attention, and the richest man in the world, environmentalists could hardly ask for a better champion. Musk’s is the story of a self-made immigrant, a stunning example of a man made for his times, and a testament to authenticity. His conquest of uncharted territory in science and technology beckons forth the American pioneering spirit. What can America do with her pioneering spirit now that the world has been mapped and nature conquered? Musk’s reply has been to imagine things beyond our wildest dreams and make them a reality.

At Corefficient, we couldn’t agree more. Design, innovation, technology, and careful attention to detail in all our energy-efficient transformer cores ensures sustainable energy transportation, safeguarding the world’s natural resources. All materials and final products undergo thorough testing at Corefficient, making sure they meet our high-quality standards for energy conservation. An older invention, transformer cores are not as flashy as some of today’s emblematic, renewable energy technologies. However, modern cores continue to be an integral part of electric grids, and essential for meeting the world’s goals. In addition, transformer core design and manufacturing has never stopped improving in design and efficiency, rising to the developmental challenges posed by the new ways of energy production.

More about Corefficient – Part of the National Material L.P. family of companies, Corefficient specializes in the fields of core engineering, transformer core design, magnetic core expertise, cold rolled steel, grain oriented steel, electrical steel, and – most importantly – customer service.
